These two species of Pteronarcys are indistinguishable as nymphs.

*Perlesta cinctipes previously reported from Ohio (Stark, 2004) now shown to be. P. armitagei (Grubbs & DeWalt, 2018).

** The indicated are species whose taxonomic status is in question (see, Grubbs, et al., 2013).

*** Current distinction of Cultus decisus decisus and Cultus verticalis in Ohio is in question (Grubbs, et al., 2013) based on earlier descriptions.
